You may be wondering: how are you supporting the family?
Jessica and I have elected to serve at Manorom International Christian School as our base of service. The school has graciously offered us a wage in Thailand, which should be adequate to cover our needs and allow us to work alongside the community to better understand how to meet their needs.
You may be wondering: Is there a way to sow into our ministry?
Prayer. That is our number one request as we make this transition. Pray that we shake off what we think we know and fully embrace and love the people in Thailand. The children at the school are exposed to the gospel every day, but we pray that we can help them understand the love of Christ and what that means for them individually.
As we immerse ourselves in our new lives, we will seek outreach opportunities. Currently, we seek to help kick-start Vacation Bible Schools, youth retreats, and, if appropriate, an AWANA program. We will be working with our sending church to bring people in for short-term support across all these initiatives.
We know God will provide for all our needs, but if you feel called to contribute financially, there are currently two ways to do so.
Path 1: Donate to the Mission Fund of our sending church
Grace Baptist Church hosts an all-encompassing missions fund that supports its long-term missionaries and short-term trips. Contributions to this fund are unlikely to support our mission directly, as we are not financially supported by the church, but they should provide opportunities for teams to visit and provide short-term support. Path 2: Direct support to the Weir Family
Donations will go toward day-to-day expenses, community service, and other opportunities beyond our limited financial resources. This will feed directly into the programs we wish to start, as well as any improvements that we can legally make to the school of the community.
